It’s just not a good “Zestimate”

Ever hop on Zillow to check out what your home is worth? Did you know there’s a tiny little tab at the bottom of the Zillow page that lets you know just how accurate their “zestimate” is? In fact, in the state of Indiana, zillow’s estimates are so poor that they don’t even rate! Zillow, Trulia, and other sites that claim to give you a market value for your home are not using up to date information. Most of the time they are going into sites provided by the assesors offices and compiling data with those values. In St. Joe County our assessors office is almost two years behind on it’s data. As a real estate agent, when I come to discuss selling your home, I generate a market analysis using the most accurate information provided by the MLS. I can look up sales of homes in your area with day to day accuracy and compare those homes to your home in order to determine the best market value price. If you really want to know what your home is worth, don’t leave it to the “Zamateurs.”
