Fixing old wood flooring patches

So you’re pulling up carpet and you have pristine hardwoods underneath! Suddenly you hit a point along the wall and things go south. There is a portion of the floor with a peice of plywood nailed in! What the heck is that? It’s a plywood patch, and many old homes will have them where the return air registers were before carpet was installed. There is a simple way to fix these with a technique called weaving. Here is the process step by step, or you can call a hardwood floor refinisher and they will be able to give you an estimate to weave. It’s usually about $10 a board and you can count the boards around the patch to figure it out!
